Hot air in the Wind City!
It turns out that the best time to
visit Chicago is when it is least like its typical freezing self! A
bunch of us were lucky enough to spend several days in the sunny
skyscraper paradise of the city where a river flows upstream and
where Al Capone was arrested for tax evasion.
The recent Executive Board meeting marked a long list of
"firsts:" the first meeting to be held at Bader Rutter's office in
Chicago; the first EB for three of our new Board members - Carola,
Clif, and Curtis; and the first meeting I led as the newly elected
Chairman of BBN. Most importantly, this was the first time we saw
BBN's competencies (Brand Asset Management, Digital Contact
Strategy, and Creative) come together to create a world-leading
integrated offering, which every agency will deliver in their
respective local markets.
I was proud to show this new offering to the Business Marketing
Association who met us for an afternoon. I will now lead a personal
crusade on behalf of the BMA whose goal is to open a chapter in the
UK. It is my firm belief that all of us - agencies and clients
alike, will benefit immensely from sitting around the same table
and sharing best practises. Whilst this hasn't been the case in the
UK, we do have plenty to learn from each other. This interaction
will push both sides to raise their game and ultimately make the
B2B Marketing industry an even better place to work in.
